McMahon Five Designs Midsummer Mermaid

Hi ya sweeties. It's Thursday which means another new digi release at McMahon Five Designs. I used this beautiful digi called Midsummer Mermaid. Wow I just fell in love with her. I used my Copic markers to color her in and enhanced the background with H2o Twinkling. The chipboard swirls I painted with white acrylic paint, used my mini misters altering broken china and peeled paint Distress ink. Then went over it with the H2O Twinkling. The cute little sea horse and coral stickers are by Jolees. I embellished with some frosted flower buttons.

McMahon Five Designs Asia at the Circus

Good Morning everyone! I hope your week is going well. I have been very busy Spring cleaning I know it's summer but I missed it in the Spring. Back in February Sean bought me a Kindle so I got rid of a lot of books that were collecting dust in my library. Don't get me wrong I still have hundreds more that I can't seem to part with. I have every book Jude Deveraux ever wrote a collection of Catherine Cookson and a HUGE selection of Nora Roberts. I love to read almost as much as crafting. We don't bother with cable TV because Sean loves to tinker in his garage instead of sitting in front of the TV and of course I craft or read. So after the last few years of this we've saved a ton of money on a cable bill. So enough rambling.

I made this sweet DT card using one of McMahon Five Designs newest images. She is called Asia at the circus, Isn't she so beautiful? I was totally drawn to her eyes and couldn't wait to ink her up. I colored her using my Copic markers. I embellished with Prima Sugar Blooms flowers and the die cuts Circle Hearts and Floral Doily are by Spellbinders all of which can be purchased at McMahon Five Design.

McMahon Five newest digi

Good morning everyone. It's been such a long time since I've created a post. I have been so busy with fun summer stuff, mostly gardening and splashing around in the pool during this extreme heat.

I'd like to share with you today's card which was created using one of McMahon Five Designs newest images called Rose. I used Distress Inks (still practicing) to color her in.

McMahon Five DT card and new image release

Good Morning my lovelies. Today's card features one of McMahon Five Designs newest images called Carnivale. Isn't she beautiful? I could not wait to get my Copic out and bring her some color. I worked with reds R29,R27,R24,R22 and R000 for her super cool dress and greys for her hair I used C9,C7,C5,C3 and C1. What do you think about that funky ribbon? I saw it on a tutorial a while back and I can't remember where but it's basically taking a needle and thread and doing a zig-zag cross stitch. I kind of made mine too long so I layed it diagonal but I think it's suits this sketch.

M5D new image release and a Step by Step Tutorial

Good Morning I hope every ones weeks has been great thus far. I have been busy putting this book- box/card together. I saw it somewhere out in blog land a while ago and it's been on my to-do list forever. I really wish I knew where I saw it so I could give that person credit for their creativity. I used one of McMahon Five Designs newest digi called "Mommies Hat". Isn't she adorable? I just love her big fluffy feather.

Supplies Needed

Heavy paper (I use Canson water color paper)

Ruler

Scissors/paper cutter

Scoring tool

Ink

Glue/Double sided tape

Decorative Punch

Designer paper

Lace/ribbon

Embellishments

 cut 2 pieces of your water color paper measuring 10cmX 24cm

cut 2 more pieces of water color paper measuring 12cmX 24cm

(sorry the penny is just a focal point for my camera)

Score all the way down the long side at

2cm, 4cm, 6cm, 8cm, 10cm, 12cm, 14cm, 16cm, 18cm, 20cm, 22cm

Follow these directions on all 4 pieces

When you score and fold they should look like an accordion

If you prefer to ink them do so now before gluing

Take one of the 10cm pieces and one of the 12cm and stack the folds

Glue just the end flaps

This show the flaps on both sides

Make sure you hold it firmly until the glue is dry

Follow the same directions with all 4 pieces

When it's all glued together it should look like this.

Just a side profile showing the inside and out.

Cut 2 pieces of the water color paper measuring 12 1/2cmX 3cm

Cut another 2 pieces of water color paper measuring 10.16cm or (4 inches) X 3cm

(Sorry I forgot to write X 3cm on my picture)

Take your decorative punch and punch all 4 pieces and ink them up

When you glue them onto the box they should look like this

Just a side profile

Cut a piece of you water color paper measuring 9 1/16 in X 4 13/16 inch

Score at 4 1/16 inch and 5 inches

This will be the book cover

(Oopsies I just realized I switched from cm to inches)

Cut out panels for all sides of the book cover

Before gluing you cover on glue one strip of your lace or ribbon

Follow these direction for the inside bottom glue the ribbon and cover it with your decorative paper

Glue down your panels and book to the right side of the book cover

embellish as desired

McMahon Five Designs and Basket making Tutorial

I am so very excited to show you today's project that I created using one of McMahon Five Designs newest image called "Gift Of Spring". I created this lovely little Easter Basket which I also included a step by step tutorial on how it's made. I hope you enjoy it!

Supplies needed:

heavy card stock

decorative paper

punch

ruler

scoring tool

scissors

glue or double sided tape

embellishments

Cut your heavy card stock measuring 21cm X 21cm

Score both sides at 7cm and 14cm creating 9 equal scored squares

Cut on scored line as shown opposite to each other

Use your decorative punch on both sides that are not cut

Use glue or double sided tape and fold the cut ends creating basket

This is what your basket should look like at this point

 Use punch to make the basket handle measuring approximately 4cm wide X 22cm long

 Add decorative paper to your handle then use double sided tape or glue to attach the handle to the inside of the basket

Add panels using your decorative designer paper to the outsides of basket.

Embellish as desired adding goodies to the inside making it a fabulous gift! Good luck and have fun.

McMahon Five Designs Newest Release

My card today features one of McMahon Five Designs newest digital images. This little darling here is called "Goose Girl" and can be found HERE. Isn't she sooo pretty. I think her eyes are just amazing. I used one of my newest die cuts by Die-namics, I just love it. The doily  die cut is by Martha Stewart sporting the lovely sentiment I love you! The butterfly is by Recollections and the beautiful flowers are by Prima. I also embellished with one of my handmade stick pins which unfortunately the pictures I took didn't show up too well.

Good Morning my friends. It's time to show you McMahon Five Designs newest image release. On my card I used Egg Hunt from Studio 313. Isn't is just adorable? I colored her in using my Copic markers, of course.
