Good Morning everyone. I'm home!!!! Vacation was awesome. We were very very fortunate to have been in a place that had snow. Oh it was just like a winter wonderland. Lake Placid NY is absolutely gorgeous. We were able to go snowmobile and tubing, Sean and Richard went skiing on the beautiful White Face Mountain while Sharlene and I stayed safely in the lodge. They also went skating on Mirror Lake which is another sport I could never do so I wandered around on the ice with my hockey stick while Sean shot pucks at me. Hmmm?? Was that even safe? I did take a tumble trying to be cool hitting the hockey puck back to him like I knew what I was doing. haha We walked the quaint little town poking around in the shops, visited this huge ice castle and saw the Olympic High Jump. We were not able to do the luge or bobsled ride as the compound was occupied with athletes training for the winter Olympics. Lake Place was home of the winter Olympic Games held in 1932 and again in 1980. It was an amazing feeling being where such an event was held.
Although we had a fabulous time, It feels good to be home with my fur baby I missed Buddy so much.
I was able to get some practice in using my Distress Inks and was only happy with 3 of the images that I inked up. Seven of them I failed miserably. Needless to say I have SOOOOO much respect for those of you who color so beautifully with them.
I also had issues with some of my DT and GDT cards that were not posted. So sorry for that I always have problems with the scheduled posting option. Fortunately some did post, you win some you loose some.
Breaking Dawn part 1 also came out last week. Did everyone pick up their copy and watch it 3 times like I did??? heehee
Ok anyway enough of blah blahing.
This weeks theme at Papertake Weekly challenge is Get Krafty which of course means use Kraft cardstock somewhere on your creation.
My card features an adorable image by Lili of the Valley called Emma with pot plant. I colored her using Distress inks. I distress all of the edges with the Tim Holts distress tool, inked the edges with Vintage Photo and added gold Stickles. The beautiful sentiment is by Darcies and the decorative card stock is by DCWV called The Pretty Princess stack. I used lots of flowers by Wild Orchids and added a handmade stick pin and a metal butterfly charm.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Hugs Bonnie
